Terms and conditions of Reunion Service

Preamble
- Reunion Service searches for family members as well as other missing person, confidentiality will be observed and protected.
1. Contract
- A contract has been entered when the costumer has made a full or partial pre-payment.
- The terms and conditions of Reunion Service have been accepted with the entry of the contract.
2. Extent of the contract concerning a search for a person
- We will try to find the person
- The found person will be asked for permission to establish contact with the client after being informed of the search and who our client is.
- If permitted, the current address and, if necessary, phone number will be passed on to our client.
- If not permitted, the final bill will be handed to our client.
- If the person is deceased, the final bill will be handed to our client.
- If the client is looking for his/her biological parents, the current address will be handed over regardless of whether permission has been given, when no confidential matters concerning anyone involved interfere.
3. Extent of the contract concerning a search for documents.
- We will try to find the adoption documents. If the documents are found, they will be sent to the youth welfare office in our clients area. The local personnel will be asked to set up a meeting with our client.
- This service costs 100 €, no matter if the documents can be found or a local meeting can be arranged. The 100 € is to be paid in advance.
4. Extent of contract concerning examination as to whether the father’s name is registered
- Depending on the circumstances, civil register offices, youth welfare offices and legal adoption decisions or divorce decrees will be questioned as to whether a father or possible genitor is named.
- This service costs 320 €, regardless of whether documents can be found or a local meeting can be arranged. The 320 € is to be paid in advance.
5. Cancelling/Duration of the contract
- Reunion service has rights to the search for one year starting from the date we recieve the signed contract and the payment for the search. If a contact occurs during this time (including if the person we are looking for announces him/herself), the final fee will still be charged.
- It is possible at any time for the client to cancel the search. The final fee will be charged within 12 months after the contract has been cancelled. Cancellation of contract after 12 months will not result in the final fee being charged to the client.
6. Payment/ Overdue fines
- The deposit or pre-payment mentioned in the offer is to be paid by the client. If stated in the offer, the rest is to be paid when the search is over. If the search leads us to other countries, an extra cost of 70 € per country to which the search is extended will be added to the price.
- In case of the payment being overdue, Reunion Service calculates the overdue fee according to usual market rates.
- If the person cannot be found, there will be no further costs for the client if nothing else was agreed upon in writing (e.g. searches for fathers who were not registered at the birth, or searches where the stated data is very inaccurate).
- If it can be demonstrated that the person sought after by the client does not exist, Reunion Service still had the right to their final fee.
7. Co-operation of the client
- The client provides all the available relevant information to Reunion service. He/she confirms in writing that all the information handed over is correct. If it is later proven that the information given is false, Reunion Service has the right to compensation for the accrued expenses of the search, up to the full cost of a successful search.
- The client authorizes Reunion Service, if necessary in written form (a certificate of authority), to ask authorities for information in his/her name.
